Sometimes, we all need to be:
- Reminded about how much progress we have made already.
- Given a right good kick up the backside.
- Pulled out of the mire and reminded of our bigger picture.
- Told a few home truths, by someone who cares.
- Talking to an independent ear who can share a different perspective.
- Feeling that we are not alone.
- Assured that someone has out back.
To ensure you have this in your life, you must attend to the way you are building relationships with those around you, so that you can get what you need, when you need it.
Part of this process requires that you give others the confidence that they can get these things from you too.
In fact, this must come first.
Strangely, when you give them the gift of your honest friendship, and help them in times of need, you’ll also be able to give yourself these things too, and become your own best friend.
Yes, a delicate art, but well worth cultivating so you can give yourself what you need.
